Job Description

The Heart of the Valley Chamber is a resource center that advocates for the business community, connects people and provides educational opportunities for its members. The Chamber is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team.   
Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

  • Accounting/Financial Related
    • Manage QuickBooks database
    • Manage ChamberMaster database
    • Issue fee invoices for membership, sponsorship and event attendees
    • Prepare supporting document for payment of supplier invoices
    • Prepare bank reconciliations
    • Prepare monthly financial report
  • Administrative Related
    • Administrative duties and responsibilities for the entire office, including (but not limited to):
      • Ensure that office equipment and supplies are working and available
      • Organize files and track use of supplies and supply requisitions
      • Answer phones and greet visitors and guest
    • Prepare Board Documents and take board meeting minutes
    • Assisting with member needs and member communication
    • Assisting in coordinating and supporting company events
    • Additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Proactively communicate the value of membership to new and existing members
  • Respond to member inquires and provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist with various on-site and off-site meetings and events
  • Always present yourself professionally
  • Support the staff and membership

Required Skill Sets and Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's or Associated degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in similar position is desirable  
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Quick Books and Outlook  
  • Strong communication and people skills

  • Exceptional support skills: including the ability to respond to members, internal staff and others in a professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner  
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills and the ability to take a proactive, self-directed approach 
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within established deadlines 

Ideal candidates will be organized and enthusiastic to support our team.  Candidates must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills and be team oriented. The position is 30-35 hours per week – with flexibility.
