Salary: Hourly + Commission (Pay negotiable based on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY
Home Interiors is a family-owned business looking for a person with a flair for design and a passion for people. Design Professionals are self-motivated and detail-oriented and must desire compensation based on results. This position requires the individual to interact with clients and helping them make product choices according to their individual needs. The objective is to provide both design and flooring advice that will make the customer’s buying decision easier.
 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent customer service and built rapport with clients, contractors, and designers.
  • Complete entire sales process independently from greeting customers on the phone or sales floor, estimating the project, closing the sale, monitoring ordered materials, and collecting balance by
  • Learn and consistently maintain knowledge on carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile, luxury vinyl, and natural stone.
  • Keep current on industry design trends both inside and outside of flooring.
  • Provides quotes for customers by estimating cost and quantity of materials by referring to floor plans, diagrams, or on-site measurements.
  • Follows up in a timely and professional manner with customers on all requests or concerns; helping work through and following up after the completion of the job.
  • Educates prospective clients on the differences in flooring and surfacing products and determines which product best fits the customer’s needs.
  • Assist in day to day showroom duties such as basic upkeep, sample organization, and creating new and effective ways to showcase showroom products.
  • Works hard to maintain sales goals as specified by sales manager.
  • Ability to select materials based on budgets set by client or contractor.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into RMFS software.
  • Prepare sketches, diagrams, or drawings and/or documentation for client presentation.
  • Select design components to create a unique and purposeful space.
  • Work with outside sales representatives to keep showroom products and literature up to date.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with installation and/or delivery.
  • Effectively communicate with all employees at Home Interiors Flooring; includes but not limited to scheduling projects with the Installation Coordinator, working with the Warehouse Manager to coordinate delivery of materials, working directly with Purchasing to ensure product materials arrive as expected and working hand in hand with other Design Pros for support and assistance.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources to grow sales for the company.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.
